Million Dollar Mindset for Nonprofit Leaders

In 2016, I was new to major gifts work. On the outside, I looked confident. More than confident, actually I was helping my boss learn how to fundraise. I knew the theory. I could teach the strategy.

But I kept procrastinating. Calls I knew needed to happen kept getting pushed. Donor visits I kept finding reasons to delay. I would fill my days with real, legitimate work and tell myself I would get to the ask tomorrow.

It took me a while to see what was actually going on. My subconscious beliefs about money, about worthiness, about receiving, all the messages I had absorbed my entire life and never once examined, were running the show. I looked fine. I was stuck.

So I built my own system. Practices that changed my beliefs. Journaling to get to the root of what I actually thought about money and whether I deserved to ask for it on behalf of a mission I cared about.

In late 2016, I closed a $2 million gift. Then in 2020, I closed another one. Same person. Same skills. Different inner state. $4 million in results.

I am not telling you this to impress you. I am telling you because I want you to understand that this is not motivational fluff. The mindset work is the strategy. And I built it because I needed it myself.

Million Dollar Mindset for Nonprofit Leaders is a free, 50-minute webinar where I share exactly what I learned, the research behind it, the framework I use with clients, and the practical tools that changed what was possible for me and for the organizations I have worked with since.

What You’ll Walk Away WitH

By the end of this webinar, you will:
  • Understand the cultural and psychological roots of fundraising avoidance AND why willpower alone will not fix it
  • Identify the specific scarcity beliefs you inherited that are showing up in your donor conversations, your board meetings, and your revenue mix
  • See exactly why organizations default to transactional fundraising (events, auctions, car washes) even when they know relationship-based giving works better AND what to do instead
  • Learn the 3 Rs of Fundraising Mindset: a practical framework for shifting from scarcity to abundance
  • Walk away with five concrete practices you can start immediately, all backed by neuroscience research
  • Understand what high net worth donors actually want from the organizations they support and why they are often more ready for the conversation than you are

Who This Is FoR

This webinar is for you if:
  • You lead a nonprofit and you know fundraising is part of your job, but something always gets in the way of the ask
  • Your board can’t seem to get comfortable with fundraising, no matter what training you throw at them
  • Your organization keeps falling back on events and transactions even though you know relationship based fundraising is the way to go
  • You have a nagging sense that the problem is something deeper than strategy
